Adopted Pet Stories!
Tipper
Darren and Rebekah Shunkwiler
Adoption Date: August 2011

Tipper has been with us for close to a month now and has adjusted well. Although Tipper only weighs 4 pounds she is a fiesty little girl that loves to play with the other two cats we have. She lets her presence be known by her meow and continues to meow until you acknowledge her! She is kind and gentle and we love her! Thank you to all of the staff for your hard work and positive attitudes. It is obvious you all share a passion for animals.

Daisy
Dale, Michelle, Riley, And Holly Williams
Adoption Date: May 16, 2005

Daisy has been doing good. We have found a cat on our front porch and had 5 kittens and keeped one of them. Daisy has been doing really well with the kitten. They like to play with each other all the time. They both like to chase each others tail all the time! It's so CUTE! Anyway our year old cat Daisy is the best thing that happened in my kids life!! Thank You Central Nebraska Humane Society! :)

Maize May
Tom, Sue, and Tarryn Shaw
Adoption Date: October 2011

How we found Maize is a unique story. My grandma and grandpa were driving into Grand Island, and my grandma said 'Can we go to the shelter, just to see what they have.' So my grandpa said 'which way is it?' He usually would say that we don't need another dog. So they went to the shelter and told them that they were looking for a little dog, because we had to put our male jack russell to sleep in April because of an infection.. They bought out Maize but her name was Pumpkin then.. They brought her home, and my aunt and her kids were here at my house. She was a little bit nervous at first but then warmed right up! :). We introduced her to our Australian Shepard, and our Border Collie.. At first Maize thought that she was going to kick our Border Collie's butt!! Maize has and attitude!! She has adjusted very well to her new life.. We have taught her how to dance, and she even has a stocking up on our dresser in our living room.. We would like to thank EVERYONE at the Central Nebraska Humane Society for helping us find what we were looking for.. Thanks again!!
